Piplantri-A village that plants trees for a new girl child
In the country that still favours the birth of a son a village in Rajasthan planting 111 saplings(trees) if a girl child is born in their region. Let's get into the story.
Piplantri is a village located in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan's state the people of this village are planting 111 trees every time a girl child is born besides this to ensure financial security the people of that village contributes Rs.21000 collectively and take Rs.10000 from parents and puts the amount in fixed deposit which can be taken off from the bank when the girl reaches to 20 years old this will give a proper education to the girl villagers also makes the parents to sign an affidavit which also restricts them from marrying her off, before she turns out to be a major.
Sh Shyam Sundar Paliwal, the former sarpanch of Piplantri started this initiative in the memory of his daughter Kiran, who expired a few years ago.
This initiative also helped the village to boost up their economy. The villagers had planted 2.5 million trees of Aloe Vera around Bear Fruit Orchid to keep them away from Termites after that the villagers realised that Aloe vera could be processed and marketed in a variety of ways. So the community now produces and markets Aloe vera based products like juice and gel and some other products also.
This inspiring village makes a conscious effort to save girl children and green cover at the same time this type of initiative should inspire India and rest of the world.
